Chew On This

Where ideas, conversations, and hands-on experiences come together to explore the most pressing issues of our time – through talks, debates, panel discussions, cookery workshops, and film screenings.

From food justice and land access to activism and alternative models of social governance, this space invites festival-goers to not just consume ideas but engage with them intellectually, practically, and even through their taste buds.

Throughout the day, thought leaders, change-makers, and skilled facilitators will take the stage to challenge assumptions, inspire action, and break down complex issues. Meanwhile, hands-on cookery workshops offer a chance to explore sustainability through food – teaching practical skills, sharing knowledge, and celebrating the power of nourishment as an act of resistance and connection.

Then, as the sun sets, the space evolves into Chew on This: After Dark – a late-night screening room, where the themes of the day deepen through the lens of film.

Documentaries, shorts, and artistic films spark reflection on everything from psychedelics and food justice to land rights, activism, fungi, and reimagining the future. Each screening will be followed by a live Q&A, bringing filmmakers, experts, and activists into the conversation to dissect the themes on-screen and connect them to real-world movements.
