Award winning performer Ríoghnach Connolly is a traditional sean nós singer and flautist from Armagh, northeast Ireland. Bestowed with a rich familial heritage of singers and song collectors, she was nominated for RTÉ’s Folk Singer of the Year and has held the title for BBC2’s Folk Singer of the Year since 2019.
Alongside being an experienced workshop facilitator, vocalist, lyricist, vocal coach and musical activist, she performs traditional music with her family project Lí Ban as well as being a member of several international touring projects (The Breath, HoneyFeet, Band of Burns and Afro Celt Sound System).
Ríoghnach brings tremendous warmth, compassion and skill to her music courses, introducing pupils to traditional folk music through interactive song, dance and humour.”
