DJ BADLY, a vinyl purist since the mid-1990s, specializes in Ska, Rocksteady, and occasional dub. His journey in the music industry began at ‘Sound Supervision,’ Acton North London, where he worked as a tape operator and tea maker, cutting dubplates for iconic figures like Jah Shaka and masters for Bunny Lee and Prince Jammy.
Badly ventured into band management, handling Crusty Heros ‘Back To The Planet,’ ‘The Revolutionary Dub Warriors,’ and ‘Nucleus Roots.’ His stint with ‘On-U Sound’ and ‘Pressure Sounds’ brought him in close quarters with legends like Lee Perry and Dub Syndicate.
As A&R for Westbury Music Ltd, he further immersed himself in the Jamaican music scene. Badly’s festival escapades include sets at Glastonbury’s Lost Vagueness and Silverhayes, Secret Garden Party, Shambala, Wilderness, both the previous Cliff-Top Reggae Parties and many more.
