Spork! [POETRY TAKEOVER]

The Spork! takeover will feature ridiculous and raucous stand-up poet Chris White, the current Bard of Exeter and punch poet Ceri Baker, and effulgent theatre maker and writer Shaday Barrowes-Bayewunmi. Plus a guest slot from Sam Staines! Expect silly shanties, lusty limericks, bad puns, great poems and lots of laughs, tears & screams. Spork! Poetry is a Devon based spoken-word producer that celebrates live poetry in all its forms, from the silly to the sublime.

“With an incredibly talented line-up and a charming host, Spork! celebrates spoken word poetry in all its forms, making for an authentic and amusing show to please any audience member.” – Razz Mag Feb 2020

Chris is a multiple slam winning stand-up poet, the founder and host of Spork!, and a very silly man who writes poems about Queerness, identity and ducks.

Ceri is the current Bard of Exeter, a poet, performer and facilitator who recently launched her debut collection Fuck It, Pass the Salt Please. Her work moves from the profoundly moving, to the downright filth, and is always captivating.

Shaday is a Bristol-based theatre maker and poet who has won several slams and worked with theatre companies and residencies from Beyond Face to Boat Poets. Weird, wacky, & flirtatiously lyrical.

Sam Staines – Winner of the WOMAD Festival poetry slam, Sam is an emerging poet with a penchant for the dark, surreal and absurd.
