Born in Hackney, Sojebeats grew up going to African parties in East London where they were usually the kid asleep across two chairs in the corner.
As they got older, they rediscovered and fell in love with the energy of percussive dance music mostly originating from Africa, which has only led to an even broader discovery of world music.
Since moving to Bristol, they’ve discovered so much incredible music and met some exceptionally talented and likeminded DJ’s that they’ve had the pleasure of playing alongside.
Sojebeats rarely sticks to one genre, so expect a tasteful mashup of worldy funk and a fusion of Reggaeton, Soca, Jungle, Samba, Baile funk, Techno, Bhangra, Dabke, Afrobeats and more!
