Claudio’s formative years were spent studying Brazilian music and touring the country with a variety of different bands. The experience gained during this period was crucial and served to consolidate and extend his knowledge of Brazilian rhythms.
Aged 17, he went to Sao Paulo by invitation of his sister – a big eye opener that had an impact on his life until this day.
Claudio has travelled Brasil extensively performing in many bands and groups, feeding his passion for Afro-Brazilian culture and traditions.
In 199, he gained permission to live permanently in the UK but has returned to Brasil several times.Since there I been here solidly. I have been back to Brasil several times and continues to expand his horizons by travelling the world, performing and teaching elements of Brazilian culture – particularly percussion!
