Turkish Marbling

Turkish marbling is an ancient art form originating from Central Asia in the 15th century, particularly in present-day Turkey. This technique involves creating intricate patterns and designs on water’s surface using colourful pigments, which are then transferred onto paper or fabric to produce mesmerizing artworks. The materials used in Turkish marbling, such as pigments and special marbling baths thickened with natural substances like carrageenan or tragacanth gum, all come from nature.
