AUKA’s DJ sets are an homage to the mighty continents of Africa, South America, and the beating heart of the diaspora, joining the dots between Pan-African and Latinx rhythms past and present to create a unique dancefloor experience that traces and celebrates connection, and the unbreakable spirit of the dance.
AUKA is the creative moniker of trombonist, DJ, audio-visual artist, and Colectiva founder, Viva Msimang.
Born in London to Chilean, South African and Welsh family, her DJ sets are an homage to the mighty continents of Africa, South America, and the beating heart of the diaspora.
AUKA is a regular feature on the underground club circuit, playing nights at the apex of the new Latinx club scene such as EPOKA, Popola, and Earthly Measures and joining line-ups at Lemon Lounge, NTs Loft, The Standard, Basket of Light, We Out Here and Glastonbury. She is currently a resident DJ at Art Otel, Battersea.
