Following in the path of Questlove (The Roots), Lazy Habits carries on the tradition of infusing live bands/instrumentation into hip-hop. Big productions, bold brass sections, and cinematic string arrangements, accompanied by heavy drums and an underlying current of finessed hip-hop. Lazy Habits music can best be summed up as gritty yet melodic anthems.
Having found a home within the musical hotbed of London, Lazy Habits have spent the last decade forging their own path in a territory increasingly populated by sound-a-likes, thanks to a unique take on their production and live performances.
The vision for the band was to create a sound that resembled the dynamic you get between a DJ and MC but through the use of live instrumentation. The results is a potent blend of strains married perfectly with heavy hip-hop drums and brooding bass lines. At once gritty and soulful, they have managed to find a unique formula for success.
