With well over 200 acts have now been booked to play across 8 stages at this year's festival. Shambala never releases full line ups before the event, we want people to come with open minds and open ears. Yes folks, we are going to be powered 100% by the wind, sun, waste veg oil and pedalling! The whole festival - every last bit of it! This may mean you have to occaisionally get on bike to watch a film or to recharge your phone- so be prepared to get stuck in. Lots more eco initiatives to come!
Calling all young men and women from far and wide to the festival front-line. Our enlisted men will be severing up traditional tipples made from the finest ingredients our ration books will allow. Rest up your trench-foot with war-time sing-a-longs around the old Joanna and live entertainment as some of 1944's biggest names in show biz rally up the spirit of the troupes and battle through the weekend's actions. So bang you tin cups and march on down to the Bunker Bar.
Due to the phenomenal demand for comedy from our 'Big Shambala Questionnaire', we have been scouring dingey back rooms, bars and pubs to bring you the finest racontuers we could tempt to tickle your sides at Shambala's very own Social Club.
We have always felt having a camp fire is a an important part of the festival experience, but for various reasons have not been able to. This year we are allowed to have fires off the ground in the camping areas as a trial (We cannnot have fires in the camper van fields however)...Follow this LINK to buy a fire wok.
After the astounding efforts of 2009, we want to see even more of you getting together with mates and coming up with a genius themed costume troupe for Saturday's carnival procession. The theme to inspire you for 2010 is ELE-MENTAL - think earth wind and fire, the weather, mad elephants, birds, fishes and strange soil creatures.
Shambala has teamed up with Sustrans for the second year to offer free guided cycle rides to Shambala from 6 cities. Last year almost 100 people took to the national cycle route, and absolutely loved it! We book the campsites, and take your baggage. Click HERE for more info
